Haven't washed in a while but it was pouring last night. Sparkling Graphite always looks nice in the sun, and today was no exception. Post any pictures you have!

Both pictures are unedited and without flash. Taken with my iPhone 5.

Amazing for 13 years old! How often do you detail it?

It gets rained on semi regularly, does that count?

Waxing is nice, and detailing is appreciated, but I'm all about the spray paint and base coat. It's hard to see in this shot, but I gave the paint a slight orange peel overspray

(if you're wondering, the reason she has so much axle tuck is because I'm running an earlier axle, couple of inches smaller. Those are 235's on there

Have you thought about dipping your ride? Those also look pretty small for 235's!

It's a great little tool!

Make sure that the surface of the car is squeaky clean, Hehe. If you drop the bar, throw it out. Even if you cut the bit that landed on the ground out, there will be more dirt hiding around somewhere. Also makes sure to keep the surface of the car well lubricated with a quick detailer, about 2 feet sections at a time. Also avoid swirling motions with the bar and when the bar starts to get dirty, fold it over itself and that'll sort that out.

Make sure to clay it in a cool area, as little sunlight as possible. Also, make sure that if you are going to clay your wheels also, that you don't use the same clay bar. Ze Germans make brake dust nice and frustrating.

If you've got any questions, Lemme know :)

Good luck!

Still amazing. You make me want to run a euro plate but I don't think my stock non sport E90 would rock it that well. VA also requires front plates too :(

I did, actually! I thought it was a pretty cool idea, but TBH I was on a pretty tight budget when I did it, so I ended up using $40 gallon of paint from Tractor Supply Company (no joke), air tools from Home Depot, cardboarded up my garage and knocked it out in a few days. With tools and materials I think the whole thing came to about....$85, not counting my air compressor.

And the tires COULD be 225's...I really can't recall which I had at time of picture, either 225 or 235's. I usually burn through tires in less than a month and grab whatever's available

So when I clay bar it what motion should I do it in/how gently should I be pressing it?

Can you also recommend a good quick detailer? Everyone seems to use something different on E90post and it's difficult to say which one is the best when they all get praise.

Thanks! I also really like that picture. It's motivating me to wash/detail my car this weekend.

Tires only last a month?! I'm guessing track/drift/autocross car?

It's a gliding motion, light pressure, overlapping passes. Pick the bar up after every pass, then put it back on the surface again.

A good quick detailer would probably be the Mothers one included in this kit. It works, it's available almost everywhere (Unlike some of the obsoletely named ones)

Drift. It takes a heavy toll sometimes, and not just on tires. I'm currently on my 4th rear axle right now

(Before you think 'holy crap what?!" I've only killed 2 axles, I'm not that destructive! One of them was an IRS from an '03 cobra, but it handled TOO well, as weird as that is to say. Friend made an offer, part of the offer was the smaller live axle I'm on now.

I'm pretty sure that a picture of my paint from that kind of distance would be more depressing than anything else. So, here:

Kinja'd!!!

There's some debate over whether it's blue or silver. Peugeot say 'Moonstone Blue', I say, 'bluey silver', and the garage where I last had an MOT say, well, 'silver':

Gonna have to wait until tomorrow. I'm in the process of buff/polish/wax for Katie's on Saturday and it's dark out now. Black car + no light +potato = no photo.

I hate doing this because the water that comes out of my hose is super hard, and so I have to spend two or more hours somewhere between washing and waxing to get all of the fresh deposits removed.

Lol, that's pretty generic. You'll have to say hi to me or I'm going to be saying hi to about a quarter of everybody there. XD

The Nokesville Road BK (near Manassas right off of the 234 bypass, close to the Super Target) has a meet every Saturday. Cars start coming in around 1200 and stay all the way until 1800 or 1900. After 1900, you'll get a period of muscle cars leaving and rice burners arriving. Sometimes, actual interesting imports show up with the rice crowd.

As for Chick-fil-A, I can't remember which one it is. I think it's the one in Dulles Crossing Plaza.

haha yeah I'll definitely come find you.

That BK meet is sounding pretty familiar but I've only heard of the ricers showing up.

The ricers only wish they were the main attraction. They actually show up most nights, but the main attraction is the cruise-in that happens during the day on Saturdays. Most of us are gone when the rice shows up since we don't want to get ticketed by association. The police have done that before.

Trust me I understand that. I went to this meet by my house and it was filled with ricers. They had a couple NSX's and S2k's so I stuck around for a while, when I left I got pulled over and almost got a ticket for my STOCK 328i EXHAUST (extremely quiet) until he decided to "give me a warning."

Kinja'd!!! The World of Vee > AM3R
06/06/2014 at 17:27

Kinja'd!!!0

haha it's my "attempt" at carbon black. I bought it because it was the cleanest M5 is socal at the time but it was beige :( and it had CHROME style 65s. But hey, a clean 50k mile M5 is not one you pass up when you're looking. And I wish it was the desert

so I got the black plastidip, got the glossifier, got the pearlizer and after enough trial and error, viola! it wasn't perfect by any stretch but for the 2 years it was on for 500$ it's about as good as it'd get.

Here's the seller pic when I first bought it

Kinja'd!!!

And caramel leather is an atrocity to maintain, when I bought the thing it was faded to the point it pretty much looked beige :( but leather conditioner is a hell of a tool
